Norwich church set to hold Enneagram course

St Luke’s church in Norwich is hosting a two-day interactive Enneagram course delivering practical wisdom and self-knowledge that can help change your life say organisers.

The Introductory Enneagram course will run at St Luke's church, Aylsham Road in Norwich on October 27 and 28, delivered by Anglican priest and former NHS chaplain Gordon Melvin.

Local organizer, Martin Smith, said: “The Enneagram is a key tool for personal and spiritual growth. It promotes understanding and compassion for yourself and others.

“The Enneagram is a dynamic, spiritually grounded personality system, describing nine different patterns of thinking, feeling and acting. It helps you become more aware of your own patterns, blind spots, automatic reactions, and gifts so that you can change and grow.

“The transformational teaching of the Enneagram helps us recognise our habits of behaviour and thinking and the impact they have on ourselves and others. Working through this helps us make healthier and more compassionate choices for ourselves and others.

Course leader Gordon Melvin originally trained as an artist and was ordained an Anglican priest in 1988. He worked for many years as a senior chaplain in the NHS before leaving in 2004 to teach the Enneagram.

Martin said: “Gordon has run Enneagram classes in several different countries for a number of years, and we’re delighted that he has agreed to do one last weekend course with us. He is passionate about his work and is a wonderful speaker who will be able to guide us through to a meaningful understanding of the Enneagram and our place in it.”
