St Andrew's Church, Trowse are hosting a Medieval Christmas Concert with Hexachordia. Hexachordia is a trio of three musicians formed to make music from the pre-baroque era accessible to a wide audience. By combining music with the spoken word they aim to tell a story with each of our concert programmes, a format that has proven popular with audiences, particularly those who may not be so familiar with the early music repertoire. The Big Christmas Jam on December 20 will showcase the musical and dramatic talents of the young people working with Norwich YFC, and will be an opportunity to see their Christmas short film before anyone else.

This free community event of beer and carolling, with live music, is the idea of Rev David Austin, Vicar of St Augustine’s Church and neighbouring St Luke’s Church. It will revive the medieval tradition of wassailing in St Augustine's Parish, an ancient folkloric tradition which is known to have been practised in England at Yule time, often on Twelfth Night, since the Middle Ages.
