North Breckland YFC team’s peak fundraising challenge

The team at North Breckland Youth For Christ are embarking on their biggest ever fundraising challenge as they attempt to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 12 hours on Saturday, July 7.

The North Breckland Youth For Christ team are currently in training to prepare for what they describe as their ‘biggest ever fundraising challenge’ on Saturday, July 7.

The fundraising team including Director Paul Roast, along with Ang Fox, Debs Green, Daniel Starling and Chair of Trustees John Bridge are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The challenge covers a route of approximately 26 miles in 12 hours and includes a total ascent of over 1,500m climbing the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

The team are currently posting video diary entries of their training routines to the charity’s facebook page.  In one of these short videos Ang Fox said: “You know why we do this – because we love young people and we want to see their lives changed.  Please give big.”

Youth worker Daniel Starling said: “It’s our biggest ever fundraising challenge and I think with your help we could make it our biggest ever fundraiser as well.”

The team have set a fundraising target of £3,000 and have currently achieved around 12% of that total.

Paul Roast said: “We do mentoring, we do schools work, we do youth cafes, all kinds of things with young people, to tell them about our faith but also to help them as they grow up.  We currently mentor around 14 young people in one of the schools in Dereham and the Sixth Form College there.  And we’re seeing great results.  So what your money will be going towards is the ongoing work of North Breckland Youth For Christ.”
