Join Raise to share the Easter story in Norfolk schools
The Christian charity Raise Kids Work is preparing to take its Easter Experience into primary schools across Norfolk, from King’s Lynn to Cringleford, and is looking for more volunteers to help share the Easter story in this interactive and creative way.
During March and April the Christian charity Raise Kids Work will be taking a van load of props, puppets and innovative ideas into six primary schools around Norfolk to immerse hundreds of children in the Easter story.
Founder of Raise Kids Work Andy Jones (pictured), from Wymondham, is keen to build his team of volunteers to help deliver these Easter Experience sessions across the county.
Andy said: “The day starts with an assembly and then the children visit different zones in groups where we get to share part of the Easter story. It's a great and rewarding day sharing the Easter story in a fun and interactive way. The day finishes with an assembly all together again. We use songs and puppets in the assemblies to help with the story.”
Last year one headteacher said about the Easter Experience: "The meal and garden zones were amazing. The children were fully immersed into these two parts of the Easter story and they were given lots of thinking as well as activity time."
Volunteers would be welcome to sign up for a morning (8am-12.30pm), afternoon (12.30pm-3.45pm) or half a day (8am-3.45pm) for the following dates:
Thursday, March 21 at St Michael's School in King’s Lynn
Wednesday, March 27 at Hethersett Junior School
Thursday, March 28 at Cringleford Primary School
Monday, April 1 at Rudham Church of England Primary Academy
Friday, April 5 at Great Witchingham Primary
A DBS is required but this can be done through Raise. All resources are provided and mileage can be claimed back if need be.
A training evening will be held in Wymondham to brief volunteers in preparation for the Easter Experiences. The date is to be confirmed.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?
The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.
To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.
We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.
