Norwich church packs hampers for abuse victims

Members of a Norwich church have been busy packing Christmas hampers with festive treats for people who have experienced domestic abuse and their children in Leeway refuges across Norfolk.

A 15-strong team from Gateway Vineyard in Norwich gathered at the church offices this week to put together 55 bags filled with Christmas treats. The bags included, biscuits, a Christmas pudding, mince pies, chocolates and soup.

Jo Yallop from the church, said: “People from Gateway and others connected to the church donated selection boxes for all the children in the refuges. The number of boxes donated was the exact number we needed.

“The bags are part of what we are doing for Compassion at Christmas, where we like to bless people that we have connected with through our compassion ministries during the year. At Christmas we celebrate the gift God gave to us in Jesus and as part of our celebrations we love to give gifts to others."
