King's Lynn church goes industrial to enlarge site

In a year when many churches remained closed, the King’s Glory Church in King’s Lynn opened a new centre on an industrial estate. Olivia O’Neill reports.

God is good, all the time. During the difficult year of 2020 The King’s Glory Church raised funds to purchase and reshape a building on the North Lynn Industrial Estate, transforming it from the warehouse of a concrete paving company into a glorious church for God.

Back in 2013 the church had established a worshipping community in the Fairstead Community Centre in the heart of a King’s Lynn housing estate. We outgrew the building and there was a clear need for a bigger premises to cater for the people seeking to know God. God has now taken us from housing estate to industrial estate.

We set to work in April 2020, demolishing some walls and re-building others. We installed the utilities and designed a layout which included community spaces and offices. We fund raised in record time and prayers were answered at every stage of the build. We continued over a period of 15 months to establish a beautiful, modern, purpose-built church for everybody and officially moved into the auditorium at the end of July 2021.

In addition to the awesome auditorium, we have a community space, a kitchen, multiple toilets and a separate baby changing room, a large upstairs meeting space (to be completed) and ideas for community projects in abundance. There is a youth club, coffee mornings, and help and advice workshops on an array of issues. We have recently hosted ‘Know Your Rights’ with the Norfolk Police, on the topic of Discrimination and Hate Crime.

We are eager to engage more local services, education groups and charities to share in this wonderful space and get to know the King’s Glory Church. We have much to offer the local community and welcome all enquiries.

In the meantime, we have phase three of the build to complete, which is the upstairs mezzanine and have plans for the outside front area too. We are excited for the future and look forward to what God has in store for us.

We aim to be a beacon of light, for Jesus said we should let our light shine before others, that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven.

We run services on a Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and monthly Friday Prayer Nights (last Friday of the month) from 10pm – 1am. We have online Bible Study on Wednesdays 7pm – 8.30pm and a Daily Prayer Altar.
