Passion play to be staged at Binham Priory

A vivid presentation of the events around the passion of Jesus will take place during Holy week at Binham Priory, and there is no charge to attend.

Binham Priory Passion Play 2022 is a revival of the very successful play performed in 2011. It will be performed as “theatre-in-the-round”, in the 900 year old Priory Church of St Mary’s in Binham.

While using most of Andrew Moncur’s original script, the new director, Viki Baynes, brings her own ideas of the presentation of the dramatic Easter events surrounding the passion of Jesus, from enthusiastic welcome to crucifixion and resurrection.

Viki has brought a core of enthusiastic amateur players from the Wells Community Theatre Group, and these will be supplemented by others from Binham and surrounding villages. There will be over thirty players in full costume, and there will be theatrical lighting and also a small choir.

There is no charge for tickets, but it is hoped that appreciation of the performance will be recognised by generous donations in the retiring collection.

Wine and fruit juice will be available before and after the performance. Although the Priory Church heating has been much improved, if the weather is cold warm clothing will make your evening more comfortable.
