Another Norwich church joins the list of hot spots
St George Colegate has become the latest Norwich church to offer a warm meeting place and refreshments during the cold winter months.
As part of the church’s outreach and with the rector’s full support, Annie Blyth, the benefice curate, decided to launch a Community Hot Spot at the church.
Each Wednesday the church is open from 10.00am to 1.00pm for anyone to call in for coffee, tea, cake or just a chat or warm up. Annie and volunteers are on hand to give everyone a warm welcome.
The response from people so far has demonstrated there was a local need. In fact, the initiative was so appealing that Norwich Community Foundation has decided to support with a grant. In these days of high energy costs this has proved invaluable in helping with the heating.
