NYFC Gap Year Placements
Norwich YFC appeals for gap year accommodation

Norwich Youth for Christ are asking those with a spare bedroom to consider housing one of the two young people coming to do a gap year volunteer placement with the local Christian charity from September.

Every year, Norwich Youth for Christ (Norwich YFC) invests in young adults aged 18-25 through a gap year programme which offers practical experience in youthwork, alongside an opportunity to receive training, discipleship and support.

Becca Savory, Norwich YFC Office Manager, said: “It has been fantastic over the years to see these people give a year to God, developing and growing both in skills and understanding but also in their relationship with God.”

Over the next academic year, Grace from America and Sarah from Scotland, will benefit from this experience.   However Norwich YFC currently has no place for them to stay and is appealing to those with a spare room to provide accommodation for the year until summer 2017.

Ideally the charity would like to offer accommodation reasonably close to the city centre or on a good bus route, enabling the young person to get to the Norwich YFC office, clubs and activities easily.

A weekly contribution of £25 can be offered towards living costs.

Becca said: “Grace and Sarah will be starting from September 12 but if you don't think you will be quite ready for then, please do get in touch anyway as we can often be flexible with a start date.

“This is an amazing way to serve some incredible people so if you're able to help or if you would like any further information please contact myself on 01603 620678 or email bsavory@norwichyfc.co.uk.”
