Norwich Alive Church is on the move to new home

A Norwich church is set to move to a new refurbished home in September and is excited about the journey ahead.

Alive Church, which began in September 2014, after rebranding from the previous City Church, currently meets and has its administration base in the City Gates Centre, Cowgate, Norwich.

It is set to move its Sunday service to Alive House, Nelson Street, Norwich (a previous home of City Church) and reach out into the Heigham area from September 4.

Over the last year, Alive House has been thoroughly refurbished. It has been transformed from its original, although dated, brightly coloured scheme into a contemporary attractive space.

Phil and Johanna Thorne, location pastors, said: “We are excited about the journey ahead and are looking forward to getting to know the people that live around Alive House as well as interacting with the businesses, schools, and healthcare professionals. The Church is here to be the difference and to declare in both word, action and lifestyle that God is alive and His Church cares.”

The plan for City Gates Centre is to eventually put a team in there as another location of Alive Church. However, Phil said: “If there’s a church looking for a space already set up and equipped to do church, we would be happy to discuss a Sunday rental agreement.”

The centre has an auditorium that can seat 140, another hall that serves refreshments well from a fully-fitted kitchen and includes soft chairs, a snooker table, pool table, air-hockey table and football table.
