Wednesday Lunch Club at St Luke’s Church 

The Lunch Club at St Luke's Church in Norwich provides a nutritious two course meal for elderly people in the community, as well as good company and a varied programme of entertainment. 

Norfolk feeds 5000logo243Transport can be provided to the lunch club by prior arrangement - with use of minibuses with wheelchair lifts – which make it a lifeline to some people who are isolated and live alone.
 
Roy and Mary Hansell have run the Wednesday lunch club for OAPs at St Luke’s Church in Norwich for over 30 years, a commitment which was recognised by in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2013.
 
Grace is said or sung each week to acknowledge God’s blessing of food and of the people who are sharing it together.
 
Vicar of St Luke’s Rev David Austin said, “I am proud of the volunteer work which has been established by church members who sacrificially offer their time in food preparation, fundraising, transport and befriending.”
 
The lunch club is open to receive new members - contact the organisers for referral.
