Town Pastors appeal for Latitude festival artist

An appeal has been put out for an artist to produce art and partner in mission with the Christian Town Pastors charity at its lively cafe at the well-known Latitude music festival in Suffolk in mid July, says organiser Major Barry Willson.

For the last nine years, Town Pastors have been working on site at the Latitude Music Festival, our patrol volunteers putting on a different uniform and working as Festival Pastors.
We also take another 30-40 volunteers with us who are not qualified to patrol, but they help us run a chill out cafe, or pray - and, in the last two or three years, we have also taken musicians and artists.
Two years ago, we were joined by Esther Day who has done an amazing job and has already agreed to partner with us again at Latitude 2019.
We are looking for a gifted artist to work alongside Esther, producing art during the opening hours of our cafe.  We open to the public at 8am and close at 6pm.
What can we offer in return?  We pay a modest contribution to our artists to cover petrol costs.  We provide a free meal in the Festival Staff Restaurant each day spent on site and offer unrestricted access to our staff "mess tent" during the day where hot and cold drinks are available along with a limited selection of snacking food.  Our volunteers also receive a free ticket to the Latitude Festival on the days they are working, and we have been happy for our artists to make use of some of the wall space to display their work which is for sale if they so wish.
Most of our volunteers camp on site bringing their own tent - and we can offer restricted space in our compound, or volunteers can opt to stay on the Festival staff camping area by prior arrangement.   We are also able to contribute reasonable costs of materials and out of pocket expenses previously agreed.
Much more than that though, we are able to offer an opportunity to partner with us in mission - at a Family Festival attracting up to 40,000 people each day.  We will be on site from Wednesday, July 17, lunchtime onwards when we start setting up - and operating until Sunday at 6pm, when the work of closing and packing up begins ready for departure on Monday July 22.  We are able to offer an opportunity for you to meet and share fellowship with over 60 of our volunteers - and to engage with the visitors to our marquee - and outside if the weather is good.
If you think this could be for you, then please send details and sample pictures of your artwork to  Please note spelling of WILLSON.  All emails will be answered.
