Christian charity on the road to offer summer fun
This summer ENYP and Wymondham Youth Bus will be working in partnership together to reach out to communities across Norfolk and beyond.
The Wymondham Youth Bus is a double decker bus offering a unique facility for youth and community engagement projects, creating a visual presence in communities and providing a welcoming space for activities to be delivered from.
During the summer holidays the organisations are partnering together to deliver a range of youth work, ‘pop up’ provision and engagement opportunities. These include several locations in Norwich, Wymondham and Suffolk. Outreach will be delivered from the heart of local communities, providing a key focal point for engagement, building relationships and mission.
Activities will include a café area, crafts and arts, sports and games, music and games consoles, to name a few.
We will also be delivering our ‘Feast Hub’ initiative providing food to those who attend and distributing food to support local families.
The Revd Danny Doran-Smith, Director of ENYP and Chair of Trustees for Wymondham Youth Bus, said, “We are excited this summer to be able to pool our resources together and deliver outreach across the county and beyond to engage with local communities. Research shows that two thirds of children in poverty will go hungry during the summer holidays unless charities are able to step in to help. Our summer outreach and Feast Hub initiative provides a great resource to be able to help meet this need, particularly being able to feed children during the school holidays. We have worked with the local Police to help identify some key areas where a positive presence would be welcomed, and we look forward to seeing how this work will develop further after the summer.”
