160 gather for annual Norfolk Bible conference

The ninth annual Word on the Wash Bible conference took place last month at the King’s Centre, King’s Lynn featuring author and teacher Phil Moore.

160 delegates, representing over 40 churches from the region and further afield, met to receive bible teaching, worship and encouragement on Saturday September 30.

Author and Bible teacher, Phil Moore was this year’s main speaker.

“Phil opened up the account of Jesus’ miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead (John 11) as a metaphor of the present state of the church and her need for resurrection in order to be an effective witness in the world,” said Graham Pickhaver from the event.

Seminars were held between meetings led by Stephen Lloyd of Biblical Creation Trust and Pastor of Hope Church, Gravesend looking at “Adam or Death: which came first?”, and Philip Powell, co-director of the Justice conference and Network Engagement Manager with Tearfund UK considering a ‘Christian approach to climate change’.

“Delegates were well provided for with a large book stall by 10ofThose and various mission stalls. Times of worship were led by King’s Centre musicians and fellowship throughout the day was a joy and blessing,” said Graham.

The event is tied with the Keswick Convention, held in July each year. As well as the annual conference, there are several local Keswick events established around the globe including Word on the Wash.

Word on the Wash 2024 will be on Saturday October 5 with Ian Coffey as the main speaker.
