Latest NWCT Ecumenical Update Published

The third issue of the quarterly ecumenical update for Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney (NWCT) has been published online

The Ecumenical Update is produced by Dr Ian Watson, County Ecumenical Officer for NWCT, who says:

“In April’s edition, as well as finding general information on ecumenism, we have a short retrospective and farewell from the Chair of the Eastern Methodist District and Convenor of NWCT, Rev Julian Pursehouse, who is leaving the county for pastures new in the summer. Also, Rev David Mayne, the new Regional Minister Team Leader for the Eastern Baptist Association and the Baptist Church leader on NWCT, introduces himself and his hopes for ecumenism.

There are also some interesting observations on the Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) at Loddon with Rev David Owen, Rector of the Chet Valley Benefice. Peter Coates, Secretary for Churches Together in King’s Lynn, relates the concept of ‘mercy’ with their local ecumenical efforts in one of our successful local Churches Together groups in Norfolk and Waveney.

Finally, it includes a celebration of a name change for the wonderful Transforming Norwich to Connect Norwich, as well as details of what is happening nationally through Churches Together in England (CTE) and Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI).”

The next edition will be published in July and will include further pieces from local LEPs and Churches Together groups, along with opinion pieces by our NWCT’s senior church leaders. If you want to contribute to future editions of the ecumenical update, please email the County Ecumenical Officer:
