Piano and flowers 750 AT
Lowestoft church's musical bouquet of events

St Margaret’s Church will be hosting a floral-themed concert and a flower festival with music over the summer months.

The events will be held at St Margaret’s Church, Hollingsworth Road, Lowestoft, NR32 4BW. The first event on June 1 is a plant-based concert, entitled Queen of the Garden, which will be performed by the Great Yarmouth choir Carolean Chorus. The evening will include The Sprig of Thyme by Rutter, as well as works by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gilbert and Sullivan and Ivor Novello. The choir, which formed in 2023, recently also performed at Great Yarmouth Minster. Tickets for the concert are £10 including a programme and refreshments.

The concert will be followed in July by a festival of flowers accompanied by music. The festival will run from July 19 – 21 and will have a nautical theme, with flowers by the Lowestoft Flower Club and friends. The event will be open to the public between 10.30 am – 5.00 pm on the Friday and Saturday, and between 12.00 – 4.00 pm on the Sunday. During this time there will be performances by Stephen Mynott and Tony Jullings on the guitar and flute, Jonathan Williams on the organ, the Lowestoft Longshoremen, and Xenia Horne on the harp. Entry is free but donations are gratefully received.
