Thetford church addresses big questions over three nights
Next week a Science Professor from Cambridge University and a Consultant Surgeon from Addenbrookes Hospital will address ‘Life’s Big Questions’ over three consecutive evenings in Thetford, for people in the town to engage with the person and claims of Jesus Christ.
From Wednesday, April 18 to Friday, April 20 Thetford Team Ministry is hosting a mini series of events called ‘Life’s Big Questions’ with speakers including a Science Professor from Cambridge University and a Consultant Surgeon from Addenbrookes Hospital.
The evenings at St Cuthbert’s Church are free and open to all with coffee, cake and the chance to hear and ask questions of good speakers on the Christian faith.
Rev Tony Heywood from Thetford Team Ministry has organised the series taking the opportunity to invite back various speakers who have expertly addressed a regular Men’s Breakfast in the town.
Tony said: “I have been wondering for a while about inviting back some of the speakers to come and give their talks again at an event that would be open to everyone.”
“The end result is that we're having a series of three evening events at St Cuthbert's in mid-April with speakers from men's breakfasts re-giving their talks and presentations but in this different venue and setting. We're calling this mini mission 'Life's Big Questions'.”
On Wednesday, April 18, 7pm Mr Piyush Jani, Consultant ENT and Head and Neck Surgeon at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge will speak on: "What About Other Religions? Do All Roads Lead To God?" Piyush is well placed to speak on this subject having been raised as a committed and practising Hindu before he was converted and started to follow the Lord Jesus as an adult.
At 7pm the following night Bob White, Professor of Geophysics at Cambridge University will speak to the question: "Hasn't Science Disproved God?" Again, as an eminent scientist and a keen committed Christian since his conversion as an undergraduate, Bob is well placed to answer this question that people often ask.
On Friday, April 20, 7pm Rev Tony Heywood will be sharing his testimony and speaking to the question: "Christianity: Boring, Irrelevant, Untrue?"
A Christianity Explored Course will start the following week on Wednesday, April 25, 7.45pm at 44 Nunsgate, Thetford, IP24 3EL.
St Cuthbert’s Church, 1 King Street, Thetford IP24 2AN
