Visit My Mosque Open Day JS
Christians invited to an Open Day at Norwich Mosque

The Norwich and Norfolk Muslim Association is hosting an Open Day on Sunday, March 3 and would be honoured if members of the Norfolk Christian community came to have a look around its Norwich Centre to find out more about the life of the mosque.

On Sunday, March 3, 10am-5pm the Centre of the Norwich and Norfolk Muslim Association on Dereham Road is taking part in the national ‘Visit My Mosque’ initiative organised by the Muslim Council of Britain and hopes to welcome members of the Norfolk Christian community.

The aim of the event is to encourage a deeper cultural and religious understanding between people of different faiths and no faith at all.  The day, which is open to all ages, will include an exhibition, Question and Answer discussion, the opportunity to meet the Imam, an invitation to observe midday prayers, henna painting and light refreshments.  There will also be a talk about Marriages in Islam at 1.30pm.
Sirajul Islam, from the Mosque, said: “In the spirit of friendship and conversation we hope to give members of the local community an engaging insight into the life of the mosque and to promote greater understanding of Islam.”
“The Centre’s unusual classical architecture draws visitors from schools and the public throughout the year. The open attitude of the mosque and its people make a major contribution in fostering interfaith and intercultural understanding in the local community.”
If you would like to attend the Open Day please confirm your attendance by contacting Sirajul on 07908 252 246 or email Please also let Sirajul know of any dietary requirements.
