The annual Ecumenical Chain of Prayer for Christian Unity will take place in St Luke's Chapel of Norwich Cathedral from 10am to 4pm. The three ecumenical Canons will all be participating along with churches from across the Christian denominations of Greater Norwich. Everyone will be most welcome to drop by at any point during to day to join in and support this initiative. The former Bishop of Norwich will also be celebrated at a Burns Night banquet thrown by the OPEN Youth Trust, where Rt Rev Graham James has been a patron since opening in 2005.The banquet, will be a delightful, historic and emotional occasion, with surprises and cameos from national treasures and the Bishop is pleased that this fundraising evening will be his parting legacy to the charity. 
Nina Nannar, ITV’s arts correspondent and Norwich resident, will be chatting with him about his memories and time in the Diocese of Norwich.
Tickets for the OPEN Banquet start at £80 including a three course fine dining menu plus wine.

Pastor Jon Norman will be interviewing Bishop James during the service to find out more about his time in Norwich.  Pastor Jon said: “We want to give thanks for the Bishop’s service to the city and for the tireless work he has put into spreading the Gospel and drawing people to Jesus.”

David Lloyd, January speaker. The title of his talk is “One Thing”. Dave Lloyd has been the Associate Vicar at St Thomas Church, Norwich since 2013. In 5 years St Thomas’ has expanded to three Church sites across the City and also owns a pub! Dave lives next to one of the Churches also known as the Sanctuary Coffee Stop, where they have regular jazz mornings and outreach events.
Dave is a founder trustee of the Norfolk based charity Street Child, which also founded the Sierra Leone Marathon which he has taken part in 7 times.
He loves playing jazz, sailing and spending time with his wife Anna, children Georgia and Zac and their crazy dog Poppy!
So do come and join us for an evening of fellowship, wonderful worship followed by the main talk. There will also be a time  for prayer ministry at the end of the evening. Please feel able to arrive at from  7pm for coffee, cakes and chat, for a 7.30 start.

Norwich - Open Faith theology course

The monthly sessions will be delivered by St Stephen’s Curate Rev Dr Alex Irving alongside experienced Christian Dave Humphreys. Together they will offer teaching on the context and content of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed of 381 as well as devotional reflections as to how it helps us to live as followers of Jesus today. The sessions will be a mixture of taught elements and discussion with a time of worship at the beginning of each session.There is no charge but donations are welcomed.

Eaton - Candlemas Service
10:00am Sunday 3 February, Christ Church, Church Avenue, Norwich
Christ Church will be holding a celebration of its own at its annual Candlemas service on Sunday, February 3 at 10am. Candlemas marks the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, and takes place, traditionally, 40 days after Christmas. The service will involve candles being blessed, the choir and a procession.
Thorpe Market - Snowdrop Sundays
12:00pm Sunday 3 February, St Margaret’s Church, Thorpe Market, Norfolk,
The snowdrops attracted over 1200 visitors over four Sundays last year, breaking records for funds raised for the church’s upkeep.  This year there will again be rotating exhibitions by local and visiting artists in the church, as well as stalls from local businesses. Home-made spread of cakes and refreshments will be available.
 
Exhibiting artists for each Sunday will be as follows:
 
February 3: Stained Glass Craftsman & Restorer Neil Forkes of Forkes Stained Glass will display a selection of his work and have smaller items for sale.
 
February 10: Artist maker Julia Hilton and landscape painter Joanna Sheldon. 
 
February 17: ‘Nine Photographers’ based at Wells: Andrew Barclay, Pauline Chapman, Annie Cowper Johnson, Cecilia Evans, Linda Gower, Janet Keymer, Rosie Ward and Mary Groombridge.
 
February 24: Gillian Eustace - paintings and prints, with selection of goods for sale.
